    If you have been impacted by a recent disaster, we have listed below some general services and supports that you may find useful in your recovery.

    For Mental Health Support 24/7 you can call Lifeline on 13 11 14 or the NSW Mental Health Line on 1800 011 511.

    A website that connects people in need with housing, a meal, money help, family violence support, counselling and much more. It is free and anonymous, with thousands of services listed across Australia.

Recovery Centres

Dedicated community recovery centres provide face-to-face support for NSW residents affected by natural disasters. Service NSW lists current centres and opening times.

Housing

Temporary and emergency housing

If your home has been affected by disaster, you can access accommodation support by visiting a recovery centre or by calling Service NSW on 13 77 88. Service NSW staff can also help you find other support you may need.

If you urgently need accommodation, call Link2home on 1800 152 152 for information and telephone referral service. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Mental health support

The NSW Mental Health Line provides links to mental health services on 1800 011 511.

Lifeline 13 11 14, is available to listen and support 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Phone, SMS and online chat is available.

Disaster Response Legal Service NSW

    • Free legal help if you’ve been affected by a disaster, including storm, flood or bushfire.

 

    • They can help with legal problems including: insurance claims and disputes, housing and tenancy, financial hardship, workplace rights, Centrelink, domestic and family violence, and government disaster grants.

    • Their free legal and social support services to people in need.

 

    • Western Sydney Community Legal Centre (WSCLC) provides access, support, advocacy, advice referrals and representation to people who live in Western Sydney facing hardship or barriers in dealing with legal or other issues.

Pets and livestock

NSW Department of Primary Industries

    Assist landholders and communities with animal welfare-related issues, including veterinary assistance, emergency fodder and stock water, stock euthanasia and burial, and care of animals in evacuation centres.

Agricultural and Animal Services Hotline

    A hotline for agricultural and animal services for flood-affected landholders is available for assistance. Landholders can request emergency fodder for livestock, animal assessment, veterinary advice and if required, euthanasia and burial. 1800 814 647
